A Message from Coach Carl
The Glen Ellyn Speed Skating, Inc. took "Best in Parade" honors in the Village of Glen Ellyn 4th of July Parade with their float. About 30 skaters, coaches, siblings, and parents participated in the parade, many skating alongside the float on their inline skates.  The design/build team was led by Gordon Cepuran and Jacky Rowe. The judges were impressed by the patriotic spirit and enthusiasm expressed and the large amount of involvement by kids and young adult members of the club.
AWARDS
The GESS club has a proud tradition of recognizing our skaters.
Our skaters work hard to achieve their goals and recognition of this achievement is a very important part of their development as a Speed Skater.  At the end of the season, the coaches and officers of the club meet to review the progress of our skaters and determine the best club skater for each of the four awards.  These awards are then presented to the skaters at our annual end of the year banquet.
